  2. Suggestions to spotlight incubating projects on the Jasig announce list and in the monthly newsletter.
  3. Some concerns about incubation committee wrt growing collection of portlets and governance. (Conceptual - Product Suite Style Governance)
    1. What would we like the governance to be?
    2. What governance for small projects such as Scheduling Assistant
    3. talk about functional boundaries - application plus portlet or portlet suite such as wiki + zythos
    4. multiple email portlets
    5. road map issues
  4. Should we release redundant portlets - eg Simple RSS portlet vs NewsReaderPortlet.  Feedback from the conference says no.
  5. NewsReaderPortlet is ready to graduate.  In fact it was ready before the conference but I didn't realize it.  Doh!

Made initial contact with Pete.  The have a production version of this service at Iowa.  They use SVN, MVN, Jira, and Confluence.  We talked about the incubation process and first step being the licensing agreements in order to begin porting this stuff over to build community around it.  He will begin working on those and a roadmap that defines how people can help with the project.  He is also doing a session on ThinkSpace at the conference.  We plan to meet there and discuss next steps.

Added ThinkSpace Collaboration wiki space (TSC).  Pete has requested completion of contributor agreements at the institution level.

Xythos Portlet and Plugin

Code checked into SVN (Xythos Portlet Source), licensing plugin installed and ran, working on a formal approval from Blackboard/Xythos on using the Xythos name and some code snippets.

Blackboard/Xythos folks have received permission to cut a source file that contains the specific methods we need.  It will be share with us under the Apache license. We are currently waiting on the files to be created and approved.
