Tim, can we get JIRA set up so that new incubation issues cause notification to all of the group? Or to incubation-list?
Jonathon wants to have Jasig web site have bird's eye view of what's in incubation. We aren't sure this works for all projects as soon as they enter incubation. We can ask them to add information to a template once they are able to do that. Jonathan will follow up via email.
2-3-98 Project
The 2-3-98 project would be a Jasig community for the discussion about the decision-making behind adoption of open source tools, how these tools fulfill actual needs of campus end-users and how these applications are supported internally, through traditional open source communities of collaboration and even with commercial service providers.
Should we incubate "project"? Does it need governance? It will use WIKI space project, mailing lists. What benefit does 2-3-98 project get? Do we need CLAs for contributed content from CIOs etc.? Jonathan will pursue this with the board further. We could walk it through incubation, exempting it from irrelevant steps just so its beginning is documented.
