IWG May 4 Conference Call

Conference call  Monday May 4 @ 2:00 PM EDT

call:  (616) 347-8000,   access code:  992610#

Attendees: Parker, Cris, Susan, Jonathan, Tim

Agenda

Elections

Should IWG transition to elected members this summer or next?  Last fall notes indicate we would elect in summer 2009 but maybe expected to be further along?

For now we will attempt to recruit one or two more members.  Cris and Susan to follow up.

General questions

  • Assign mentors for incubating projects.  One for all portlets to herd them along? Continue as we are for now and let pressure come from uPSC if portlets seem to bog down.
  • Each committee member will add comments to jiras.
  • Susan to comment Bedework and ESUP Help Desk

Quarterly review of incubating projects

The status for each is to be measured against Incubation Process Exit Criteria.

We discussed some difficulties using the criteria.

  1. Legal compliance is difficult to understand and we want to be sure we don't get it wrong.  Cris will set up meeting with Jonathan, John Lewis, Susan to learn what we need to know and determine process for IWG to correctly determine compliance.
  2. Some requirements are debatable - resolving conflict for example.  Another example is  requirement for a release during incubation.

Tim will develop a check list version of the criteria to be used for review.  Cris will add a sentence stating that  the IWG may decide to allow a project to exit without meeting specific requirements.  Reasoning would be documented in the jira issue.
