Supplementing Incubation Committee
Parker has stepped down acknowledging lack of time to contribute enough time to meet commitments. We would like to recruit two additional incubation committee members. Nominees are:
- 1 Steve Swinsburg (92) - good to ask him because of the Sakai / Jasig common future. May not have time - hopefully would say no if he doesn't have the time.
- Dan Biondi (69) - hold off because uP SC wants to recruit him?
- 2 Paul Gazda (123) - uPortal and NAU uses Sakai (declined)
- 3 Curtis Garman (212) - institution may not be supportive? (declined)
- 4 Benito Gonzalez (23) - involved with Sakai and uPortal
Number in parens = posts to lists as possible indicator of level of involvement. How to proceed? We eliminated DAn Biondi so he can be recruited to uP SC and just decided to contact others in the order they landed on the list.
Incubating "communities of practice"
Can we adopt changes to incubation process to accommodate communities of practice? See Benn's draft: Incubation Process.
- Need to document what community of practice in Jasig is. Jonathan work on info for the web site / wiki. Work from one process document.
- I added governance requirement for a chair and one other member. I added a requirement for voting to replace these positions.
We agreed to adopt the new process.

Nothing of note to say. Perhaps we could do some screencasts. Is RPI willing to participate. How would RPI respond if we terminate incubation? Wait for awhile in hopes European interest might develop through Sakai realtionship. |
