The project has been ready for a very long time (since July or August last year).  Incubation is equivalent to provisional in Sakai.  Steve is part of new process.  It would be good to have phone call with Steve about this.  Cris and Bob set time to talk with Steve.

Student Success Plan

i had a meeting with Ian about ThinkSpace, and he is interested in finding out more.  we'd like to get him up to speed on the concept and capabilities, so he can be an advocate and evangelist for the product.  we also discussed the conference being a good place to perhaps begin to explore the formation of a community of interest around these learning and teaching technologies.  A community could include representatives from ThinkSpace, Sakai, and others.

shared this with Pete, and he is interested in learning more.  he currently has a student preparing a automated demo of the product.  this will initially be shared with Ian per above; however, I could see this being a powerful marketing tool in itself.

Contacted Vincent on 2/20/13 to update the following:

• LICENSE and NOTICE files are in place but all source file headers still include copyright notices
• Project roadmap in WIKI but not yet following template with integrated JIRAs section

UC Merced will see if this is applicable.

BYU says they are running it in production. UC Merced will look at in in February. There was a discussion about communication related portlets. 

Drew will be taking over the lead on this portlet. UC Merced is adopting with a production rollout in the next two weeks. Chris Waymire is active on the project.

No answer.  Cris attended a presentation at unconference where people from various projects participated.  Seems plenty of hope for future.  Crosses both Sakai and Jasig projects very clearly.  Tim adds that internationalization is key for Apereo future.

Tacoma Community College added themselves as a current adopter.  Gary merged in some changes to improve the project (An admin is now able to perform updates or delete any ad, POM file is now performing the JSON library download.).  Gary plans to starting incorporating Jira tickets for tracking new feature like these in the future.

A little up and down over the past few months since the conference.  Pete posed a question about whether Jasig or ThinkSpace was getting what they expected out of the incubation relationship.  We discussed this a bit, and I suggested the possibility of getting Ian involved in a strategy discussion.  Noting that we could all get together for a chat about ThinkSpace and Ian could comment on Apareo commitment as well as any potential collaboration or creation of a community of interest to include ThinkSpace and Sakai CLE.  Pete and his supervisor are going to discuss this as a possibility.

In the mean time, University of Illinois CVM contacted them about using ThinkSpace as soon as this year, and the ThinkSpace team has sent manuscripts to an interested professor of family medicine at U of Iowa's Medical School who seems interested in collaboration.
