uPortal annual report

We approved the final edits to the report and made plans to publish it. We briefly reviewed the challenges and opportunities.

Jasig jira/wiki migration

The hosted legacy Jasig Jira and Confluence instances will be decommissioned. Hosting costs are increasing and use is decreasing as projects move to other tools. An attempt will be made to migrate them to Atlassian Cloud hosting, otherwise they will be archived in some other manner. It was recognized that the older uPortal manuals are still being used. Jim will be working on the migration. 

Elections

Terms are completing for Brandon, Andrew, Aaron, and Benito. Marissa has stepped off. Drew, Julien, Steven, and Lauren will continue. We will hold elections as soon as possible, moving us towards closer alignment with the Apereo election cycle. Jim will start communications on the uPortal lists.

Newsletter

We reviewed what uPortal content has been submitted for the newsletter and what other items would make for good articles. Lauren agreed to take a lead role in soliciting and organizing uPortal content for future newsletters.

Web components

We briefly discussed who is currently working on uPortal-related web components. Drew will lead an effort to put on a web component related webinar as part of the Apereo fall series.

Winter uPortal developer meetup

Unicon is interested in hosting a development meetup in December or January. This will be discussed on list.

Health checks

We briefly discussed measures of uPortal health. While the frequency of releases seems healthy, growth in the number of committers has stalled.
