PURPOSE: To foster relationships among and recharge the Apereo community through organized informal activities.

ACTIVITY NOTES

Activities jasig-Sakai 2012:

Purpose/goal

  • Break up a long week

  • Create a break

  • Casual networking/integrate people

  • Foster longer-term relationships

  • * Target new people: help them becoming insiders

  • Help families

  • Conference tends to be a "family reunion"

    •  raise awareness among others to reach out

    • * Dan to create purpose statement in wiki

  • Need to determine what is in our scope

    • Welcome reception?

  • Reinforce the idea of an Apereo theme / establish conference culture

    • More than the sum of the parts

  • Trolley station - 1 block from hotel

  • Petco Park - 20-25 min walk, trolley goes directly to Petco

  • Balboa Park - 1.5 mile walk / 30 min.

  • Gaslamp District, Little Italy & Seaport Village - all ~4 blocks from hotel

  • Fairy station to Coronado Island - 3 blocks from hotel
