In short testing the whole "searches show up as nodes in the tree" was both confusing, and not that useful. While adding a better title than "Search" (maybe including the terms) might be better - I'm not sure it wouldn't be simpler to just make the search a transitory action that you repeated if you wanted the results again.
Since groups contain different types, I'd like some visual identification of what kind of objects (people? channels?) I'm dealing with in the nav tree.
Locking/unlocking is cumbersome. AJAX may aid this, though I wonder if it's an appropriate metaphor for a tool for admins.
Also the searching really seems like it should always be "fuzzy" in the types of matches we allow – who searches for "exact" matches?
