Banner and Single Sign On
Yale uses uPortal and Banner both authenticating with CAS. We have one channel (final exam schedule) which uses proxy CAS. A servlet accepting the proxy CAS does a sql query for the user's exams and returns the result in xml. We display the results to the portal user using CGenericXSLT with CasLocalConnectionContext. Links to Banner web launch that web application in a new window but using single signon through CAS.

Note: This is not an advertising space for SCT Luminis. This is documentation about what is available and about the alternatives in integrating Banner with uPortal. One route Banner schools might reasonably choose to go is to use SCT Luminis, which is built upon uPortal.
