  • Call meeting to order,

Minutes

  • Order was established

    • Jim's taking notes

    • Jonathan will post the agenda prior to next week's meeting

    • Susan will create a template for agendas

  • Web presence and Marketing

    • We need conference references on our main web pages (ja-sig.org, uportal.org, CAS). Jonathan will come up with the text and Andrew will implement.

    • Jonathan has encouraged Scott to attend and spread the word to the CAS community.

    • There is interest from Sakai for sending someone.

    • Paul will inject news of the UnConference into the Fluid conference.

    • We will hit Sakai, Fluid and others once we have registration set up.

    • Meetup site is looking good.

    • Facebook may have something, but we are not going to introduce it.

    • Andrew will start soliciting lightening talks.

  • Unicon training

    • Jonathan and John are still looking into it. If it works out, JA-SIG would help promote but there would be no official tie between the conference and the training.

    • Facilities would need to be arranged.

  • Administration

    • Meetup only takes PayPal; we will need to figure out a way for folks to accept checks. Maybe JA-SIG should have a PayPal account.

    • Jonathan will talk to Concentra and Jason about invoicing. Need to consider process fees, either by Concentra or PayPal.

  • Post-conference

    • Jason has offered to inquire about Rutgers for post-conference.

    • The $7K quote included 1 small conference room for W-F.

    • Jason and Bill will talk about whether or not to pursue Rutgers space. Actually, it was generally decided that we should just host it at teh hotel.

  • Pricing

    • It would be nice to have no registration fee, but that requires sponsorship (by a host or other source). At this time it seems that we do not have time to hold off on announcing the conference while searching for such a venue. Next time, we would like push on this further.

    • $225, but we need to look at surcharges incurred.

  • Our unconference pre-flight timeline page

    • Time to move forward on promotions. General consensus that we can send email now send another one once registration is set up.
