The word scenario is widely used with differing definition and understanding. For the purpose of this discussion, we will define scenarios as simple stories. A scenario is created by simply articulating a persona through a context with a specific goal. Scenarios are a great method for exploring design ideas.

  • Scenarios are inexpensive, quick to produce, and provide a starting point for identifying and removing brick walls in the design
  • Scenarios can be quickly distributed to the design/development team for critique
  • Scenarios provide inspiration to the interface and visual design efforts
  • Scenarios set the baseline for QA test cases
