"JA-SIG is beginning a new project to re-design our web sites.  Our current sites, which have evolved naturally over the course of seven years will be reworked to provide a less cluttered look, to support some new features that we'd like to see on the site, and, most importantly, to improve the information architecture so that visitors are able to easily find the what they are looking for.

The first step will be to begin a requirements gathering phase, starting today.  We would really appreciate your input here.  If you have an opinion about how our sites can be improved, we want to hear about it.  One way to let us know what you're thinking is to send email directly to John Fereira, jaf30 at cornell dot edu.  John, who is leading this effort, will compile all requirements and post them to the JA-SIG wiki.

Please send us your suggestions by (3 weeks?).  At the end of this phase, the Web Presence working group will prepare an RFP for the development work.  We are aiming to complete work on the site in early Spring.
