The GLAST experiment, a space-based observatory to explore the high energy universe that was built at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), uses CAS to authenticate all of their Java and Spring based web applications. The GLAST CAS server internally uses Spring and Acegi to authenticate the user's credentials using Kerberos against SLAC's existing user database. The GLAST CAS server has been under continuous operation since 2004 and runs as a high-availability 24x7 web service.
