Blurb: We provide CAS-based integration solutions for colleges and universities.

Solid Blue helped the Facilities Management department at the University of Arizona integrate new and existing applications with the UA's CAS-based solution called WebAuth.  The applications included online work order (service request) submissions, viewing of open and closed work orders for a given department, and account balance and other information drawn from their existing (and enormous) business services Sybase database -- convincing the Sybase database to work with our .Net front end was a saga in and of itself.  Once authenticated, the user was allowed to maintain their own profile including contact information for a given work order.

Because the university's list of users included students, faculty, and others not authorized to request work orders or view sensitive account information, authorization for each module of the application had to be stored in a separate database, though, happily, passwords were maintained by the UA's central computing department, CCIT.  (smile)

While the current applications using CAS are available to users throughout the campus, we intend to create department-specific instances of a CAS solution which will allow use of the existing LDAP structure to manage user logins and permissions.  Because CAS is so flexible and easily implemented, the creation of such "scope-based" CAS instances seems to make sense.
