SSP 2.X Academic Advisor Testing Guide

Description/Purpose
The Academic Advisor role in SSP is traditionally assigned to advisors and counselors who provide academic planning services to students and utilize SSP tools to document and manage student interactions. This testing guide will focus on activities performed by the Academic Advisor in order to validate SSP functionality.
The tools focused on with this testing guide are:
- Caseload Assignment
- MAP
Caseload Assignment
Search for a student in Caseload Assignment Tool
- The search tool will only search for students that have already been added to SSP. Search on a variety of criteria to ensure your results return correctly.
- Confirm that dropdowns on search fields are populated with correct information.
MAP (MyAcademicPlan)
Create a new MAP and Save Templates
- Verify that all courses from SIS display in All Courses pane; ensure Course, Title, Credit (Cr.) and Tags import successfully
- Create a New Plan
- Drag-and-drop various courses into the terms, confirming that pre-requisite and/or co-requisite data is present
- Review Filters (Program, Tag, Term) to ensure they display proper courses; Reset each Filter
- Add an Advisor/Coach Note and Student Note to a course; Save
- Add a Term Note; Save
- Add a Plan Note; Save
- Save as New Template and name it "Private MAP Template"; Select Active Template and Private To Me checkboxes to make template private
- Make changes to the MAP (import new courses, move courses from term to term)
- Save as New Template and name it "Public MAP Template"; Select Active Template, but not Private To Me to make template public
Verify only the appropriate role(s) in SSP can save public templates
Load Private MAP Template
- With the same Advisor login as above, load the previously saved "Private MAP Template"
- Confirm the proper MAP loads
- Save plan with different name (Save as Plan)
- Logout of SSP
Load Public MAP Template
- With a different Advisor login, load the previously saved "Public MAP Template"
- Confirm the proper MAP loads
- Save plan with different name (Save as Plan)
- Make changes to the MAP (import new courses, move courses from term to term)
- Save Plan
Email MAP to student
- Email MAP in Matrix Format
- Email MAP with Options
- Enter your email address; Send Email
- Verify both emails contain required information and are received by all To/cc addresses
- Verify Reply To address in email is correct
Review student's Financial Aid and Transcript information
- Click the Financial Aid button; confirm that all fields are populated with correct Financial Aid information from the SIS.
- Click the Transcript button; confirm that all student transcript information is displayed.
