Conference toolkit
In prehistoric times, cavemen and cavewomen went to conference to talk with people face-to-face, and paint something on a wall of cave or carve a stone tablet. Although these options are still available, you should probably consider enhancing your conference experience with more modern tools. This page is dedicated to exposing some of these tools, and how they can be used during the Sakai conference.
In perpetual beta...
This page is currently and will forever be in development. Please add your own tips and tricks to help attendees have a more fruitful experience.
I. Twitter
Over the years, Twitter has become the tool of choice for conferences, especially the Sakai ones. Make sure to monitor the #jasigsakai12 hashtag before, during, and after the conference to know what's happening, share knowledge nuggets, engage in conversations, and connect with fellow attendees. Also, follow @jasigsakai12 for official announcements.
For any conference logistics questions, use #jshelp on Twitter.
II. Other social media sites
We understand that Twitter is not for everyone, so we made sure to create a presence for the conference on Google+, Facebook, LinkedIn, and many more. Use what you feel comfortable with, but you should understand that from the experience of previous conferences, most of the social buzz will occur on Twitter. All the tools are listed on the 2012 Jasig Sakai Conference gateway page.
III. 2012 Jasig Sakai mobile app
The mobile app is now available in Google Play and iTunes.
