This page details various transportation options for getting to the Unconference.
Flying into Urbana-Champaign, Illinois.
Urbana-Champaign has one small local airport Willard (CMI). The hotel and conference center is a short distance from the airport, but ground transportation will be required. The hotel provides shuttle service free of charge, or you may arrange for a taxi or car rental. Once on-site (at the hotel and conference center), ground transportation to and from campus restaurants etc. can also be arranged through the hotel.
Flying into Chicago, Illinois
Chicago has two main airports O'Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW). Chicago is 2 plus hours north of Urbana-Champaign via I-57, so car rental would be required. Both airports have all major car rental carriers represented. Please note that Chicago traffic can be very congested.

Flying into Indianapolis, Indiana
Indianapolis has one main airport Indianapolis International (IND). Indianapolis is 2 hours east of Urbana Champaign via I-74, so car rental would be required. The airport has all major car rental carriers represented. Although it is a major metropolitan area, the traffic out of Indianapolis will not be as heavy as Chicago.
Flying into Bloomington, Illinois
Bloomington has one regional airport Central Illinois Regional (BMI). Bloomington is 1 hour west of Urbana-Champaign via I-74, so car rental would be required. The airport has a few major car rental carriers represented.
