Editing Portal Permissions

The activity detail screen lists all explicitly-set permissions for the current permission activity.  To edit an existing assignment, click on the edit link for that assignment.  To assign permissions over a target not yet listed on the page, use the Add An Assignment link.

• Select a target on which to assign this activity by using the autocomplete menu.  The list will be populated with valid targets for the current activity.

• After selecting a target, select Choose Principals.

• Next, select the principals for which you would like to assign this permission.

Finally, adjust the grant/inherit/deny settings to match your desired permissions.  The interface persists selection changes immediately and will update to reflect inheritance appropriately.  If you want to assign additional principals, select Choose Principals to update the displayed principal list.

This permission editing interface may also be reached from selecting "edit" on an existing permission listed in the activity detail page or from the user or group administration portlets.  When selected principals belong to multiple groups, the hierarchy will display all parent groups that include the principal, which may lead to a more complex user interface.
