Users evaluating uMobile for the first time may wish to use the uMobile application server quickstart. This quickstart packages uMobile together with Tomcat, Maven, Ant, and a default database for the quickest and simplest setup.
To use the uMobile quickstart:
- Download either the quickstart or dev quickstart from http://jasig.org/umobile/downloads.
- Expand the download. On windows an unzip utility OTHER than the Extractor utility that comes with the OS is required.
- From the root of the uMobile-1.0.0 folder, use the packaged ant executable (ant.bat on Windows, or ant.sh on Linux/OS X) to run the 'ant start' command.
- Wait 30 seconds and open http://localhost:8080 in a mobile browser.
