Single Sign-On

Single Sign-On using CAS has been done successfully in the past. Because nobody at the table knew of existing documentation, it seemed that schools have been re-inventing this. One of the goals of this Wiki space is to collect documentation about how to CAS-enable Banner Web Self-Service and make it easier for future adopters.

This option was regarded during the discussion as a possible way of presenting the portal users, most often students, with a streamlined navigation to the specific Banner Web Self-Service screens. It wasn't clear how this could be achieved, and it was obvious that Single Sign-On would be required. The consensus at the discussion, however, was that it was an option worth experimenting with because of its relative ease of development as contrasted to the data integration options above.
