About the Application Server
The uMobile application server is a required uMobile component that provides:
- Content for mobile browsers
- Middleware application server capable of merging resources from disparate locations
- REST services and remote web-based content for the native application
- A desktop-friendly administrative console

This documentation section is currently in-progress and is missing a good deal of interesting, useful content about the uMobile server configuration options and APIs. Until this section is complete, the uPortal 3.2 Manual's instructions are generally similar to thos of uMobile, and that manual may serve as a useful temporary documentation resource.
