Abstract
This presentation is to be an introduction to, description of, demonstration of, and slight look under the covers of, the Toro Installer. The Toro Installer is an implementation of Ant Installer specifically for installing uPortal and Toro components. The installer uses Maven to gather relevant uPortal installation dependencies and is capable of installing uPortal, accessory channels and portlets, and associated RDBMS schemas and data. http://www.unicon.net/node/821

This presentation gets the word out about a new, easier way to install uPortal and desired open source components derived from the Academus product. Better understanding and adoption of the Toro Installer may help to position uPortal as easy to adopt.
