System requirements

  1. Java Development Kit (JDK) 6
    Bedework is built and tested against Oracle's JDK.  Other JDKs are not supported.
  2. JAVA_HOME environment variable must be set.

Note to Windows users:

Throughout this manual, when you can replace all commands of the form “./command” with “command” or “command.bat”.  For example, to start Bedework's directory server, enter: “bw -quickstart dirstart”.
