Reindexing Bedework

Though unusual, it is possible for the indices to get out of step (for example, after a system crash). 

If you find you need to re-index Bedework:

1. Log in to the JMX-Console: https://yoursite/jmx-console
   
2. Select org.bedework.engine from the left-hand column.
3. Select service=indexing
4. Scroll down towards the bottom and locate the rebuildIndex operation. Click on invoke.
   
5. The process takes a while.  While it is working, you can check status by invoking the rebuildStatus operation.
   
   

There are two other operations that can be used to manage the indices. 

1. In the same section, you can list all the indices, active and inactive, by invoking the listIndexes operation.
2. You can purge the old indices (the inactive ones) by invoking the purgeIndexes operation, also in the same section.
