[10:02:20 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> Hey Jason
[10:03:07 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> yo
[10:03:31 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> Is there something you need me to do for B2?
[10:03:44 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> you mean more issues?
[10:03:44 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> I've worked through my bugs
[10:03:48 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> yeah
[10:03:52 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> anything assigned to Dan for b2
[10:04:00 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> ok
[10:04:12 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> i'll pick something off of his queue
[10:04:13 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> 1118, 1216, 1192, 1287
[10:04:16 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> any idea if he's going to be around today?
[10:04:27 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> he is supposed to be. flew back last night
[10:04:43 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> 1192 is a minor issue but based on a bigger problem that needs design work
[10:04:47 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> 1287 is a simple fix
[10:05:13 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> 1118 would be a good one. that will cause data load problem
[10:05:14 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> s
[10:05:27 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> ok, I grabbed 1287 and 1118
[10:05:29 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> to start
[10:05:41 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> I don't want to hog all the fun from Jim
[10:06:03 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> I haven't looked yet. Is he done with his also?
[10:06:22 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> not sure exactly where he's at but I know his queue was getting thin
[10:06:55 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> that's good news
[10:07:09 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> we are on a little bit of a hold until the Win CI is up and running
[10:07:29 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> yeah, always better to run out of tasks before a release than run out of time
[10:07:33 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> I have the few that you did this morning. Linux CI was down again, but I have it running now so I can clear those
[10:07:42 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> cool
[10:09:45 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> where would the facet API call for term affect the app the most?
[10:11:04 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> course search?
[10:11:10 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> why?
[10:11:24 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> just want to make sure 1177 checks out ok
[10:11:30 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> Jim resolved it
[10:11:41 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> yeah, that only gets called during course search
[10:11:55 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> cool. looks ok to me
[10:12:08 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> cool
[10:47:49 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> Jason are you dialing in?
[10:52:53 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> on now. sorry
[11:21:45 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> I just assigned 1083 to Jim which is another database change. Since Tony is working on 1118, it may make sense to have one person make the liquibase changes. I'll let you guys figure that out.
[11:25:32 CDT(-0500)] <dmccallum54> 1083 is going to impact the entire stack
[11:25:48 CDT(-0500)] <dmccallum54> int -> BigDecimal
[11:34:12 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> Jason, So, I don't rmbr the issue that was updated recently, but for Save plan. Wouldn't it be more intuitive for the save as new plan option to be Save Plan as? Right now it says Save as Plan.
[11:37:05 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> Well, there are two issues: 1) Jim suffers from dyslexia. It used to say As Plan Save. This is much better. 2) I think we went for consistency to distinguish Save As Plan and Save as Template from Save Plan. I don't have a strong opinion on the syntax though if we want to change it.
[11:39:43 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> Well, that is the weird thing, its the same for template modality as well as plan modality. I got confused when I was using it just now.
[11:40:33 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> I know yesterday i used it correctly becasue I remembered the issue change. What can happend is the user wants to save as new plan and hits save plan by accident and erases their old version and is stuck with their new version.
[11:41:02 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> Also, the order of the options is not consistent between modalities.
[11:41:03 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> Go ahead and suggest what you think make sense for each menu
[11:44:26 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> Template saving is good the way it is. For plan mode, it should be: Save Plan first then Save Plan as (or Save as New Plan) then finally Save as a new template.
[11:44:57 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> So really just re-arranging the first two options for the drop down and re-naming the Save as Plan option.
[11:45:22 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> anybody have any objections? Otherwise Paul can write up a ticket
[11:45:27 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> I don't know how hard it is maybe for b3, but could you have tooltips for those options?
[11:46:53 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> personally, I'm not a fan of tooltips on menus
[11:47:55 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> Yeah, me either. I only like them with a long delay before they kick in.
[11:48:25 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> Yeah, it doesn't need them. Coaches will presumably get training.
[11:48:50 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> yeah, like amphetamines
[11:49:20 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> haha
[11:51:03 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> Paul- for testing the MAP email, I basically grab the body out of the db and render it in a browser. it has been fine so far. If we can configure mail, that will be a full test
[11:53:23 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> That is a good idea, I'll do that for testing the email. It seems to work though, as long as it delivers to the correct address and doesn't cut anything off, I can't see it not working as print and view all are similar and work the same way.
[12:04:37 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> I'm done with my Safair on Postgres testing. There will be a bunch of emails coming. sorry
[12:12:46 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> Jason, how did you do the past term testing? Back when there were past terms, but now everything is current with summer 2013.
[12:13:03 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> basically, yes
[12:13:44 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> and the original past term included the current term. that's how I found it originally. so that "worked". then Jim change the past def to not include currrent
[12:14:50 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> Oh, I see. Is there an admin way to set the current term to say Fall 2014? Or are we pretty confident in the previous testing?
[12:15:39 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> I'm pretty confident. you could change the definitions in external_term, add some courses to a term that you made current, then change the term definition back
[12:24:35 CDT(-0500)] <TonyUnicon> ahhh jirapocolypse
[12:26:18 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> I'm done for a while
[12:29:41 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> I have to bail for a few hours. All the Safari on PG testing is done and jira issues updated (you probably already knew).
[12:30:33 CDT(-0500)] <JasonElwood> The ssp-config.properties files have been updated with the smtp configuration to send mail and the db config tables has send_mail = true. The next time Linux CI and Win CI build, email will be active. As long as the whitelist is ready to go, emails will be sending from ssp
[14:24:52 CDT(-0500)] <tbain> Windows CI is up with the demo data
[14:26:07 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude1> It works!!! Yeah! Thanks tbain.
[17:05:27 CDT(-0500)] <tbain> Just got confirmation that Greg will attend the meeting on Monday - I feel special
[17:05:56 CDT(-0500)] <dmccallum54> thx for reserving the room, btw
[17:07:49 CDT(-0500)] <tbain> NP, I originally scheduled it for Friday thinking that we only had a few hours to grab a good room but with the reschedule I thought it was best to stay ahead of the loiter.... umm... other people who might use the room
[17:10:34 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude> Uh oh I'm getting spam to my work email... from some college on the east coast.... they say I have to take some sort of intake or something?!
[17:12:40 CDT(-0500)] <tbain> yay!
[17:13:30 CDT(-0500)] <pspaude> Its from the microsoft CI, don't know if it was meant to be turned off or not. But, at least I can test it.
