Fall 2009 Day 1 - CAS Roadmap

CAS3 was a fundamental shift with service registry etc.
CAS4 will integrate fundamental SAML profiles
The Roadmap and Vision page is somewhat of a wish list
Potential to branch off CAS to do authorization as well
Perhaps something like OpenCAS
Services registry is getting richer
ClearPass is a module that sits between CAS and other app to pass passwords
Attribute release is a solution to the authZ portion (access by mail list)
CAS4 will interop with Shibboleth better
Outlook Web Access using ClearPass because CAS proxy ticketing provides to much load
- U of Tenn Knoxville is in testing phase of CAS for OWA
Redundancy issues
- RepCache uses memcache that allows two memcache servers to replicate to each other
- Syncing services config across instances poses same challenges as any other system configuration
