The following examples use a mysql database. You will need to make the necessary modifications with your own database information in order for the following steps to work.
Step 1. Create Placeholder Database
No data will actually be migrated there, but it is required to validate uPortal connectivity settings.
mysql -u root -p mysql create database myws401; create user 'myws401user'@'localhost' identified by 'myws401pass'; grant all on myws401.* to 'myws401user'@'localhost';
Step 2. Update Database Dependencies
File Location: uPortal-4.0.2-quick-start/pom.xml
Replace:
<jdbc.groupId>org.hsqldb</jdbc.groupId> <jdbc.artifactId>hsqldb</jdbc.artifactId> <jdbc.version>${hsqldb.version}</jdbc.version>
With:
<jdbc.groupId>mysql</jdbc.groupId> <jdbc.artifactId>mysql-connector-java</jdbc.artifactId> <jdbc.version>5.1.6</jdbc.version>
Add:
<dependency> <groupId>mysql</groupId> <artifactId>mysql-connector-java</artifactId> <version>5.1.6</version> </dependency>
Step 3. Provide Placeholder Database Connection Details
Properties File Location: uPortal-4.0.2-quick-start/uPortal-4.0.2/uportal-war/src/main/resources/properties/rdbm.properties
hibernate.connection.driver_class=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver hibernate.connection.url=jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1:3306/myws401 hibernate.connection.username=myws401user hibernate.connection.password=myws401pass hibernate.dialect=org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect
Step 4. Run Ant Targets
Build File Location: uPortal-4.0.2-quick-start/uPortal-4.0.2/build.xml
ant db -Dscriptfile=up4_legacy.ddl ant db-hibernate-portal -Dexport=false -DoutputFile=up4_portal_hibernate.ddl ant db-hibernate-raw-events -Dexport=false -DoutputFile=up4_raw-events_hibernate.ddl ant db-hibernate-aggr-events -Dexport=false -DoutputFile=up4_aggr-events_hibernate.ddl
