At USC we've customized the Preferences interface a bit, a while ago. We didn't use Ajax but built some Ajax-like features (like active channel
search.) We mainly wanted to give the GUI a face lift but dropped in some features as well. I guess it's old school since we did not make use of Ajax but I thought of sending the group some screen shots, maybe some of the things we have make sense to be added to an Ajax/dojo interface.
(e.g. search for channels while typing, etc.)
