Student Financial Aid Summary

An application in the portal to display a summary of a student's financial aid awards and status

Functional Requirements

Note: this is a very high-level, rough draft, as per Aaron Fuleki's 16 April 2009 meeting with Nancy Hoover, Director of Financial Aid at Denison University, which also included input from her previous meeting with students.  We obviously need additional analysis and study before this can be broken down into a actionable specification document.

1. Financial Awards (list current, link to previous in zoomed view or directly in underlying ERP UI).
2. Outstanding balance, with due date if applicable ("Your Bill").
3. Loan history (show current loans with link to details, link to history of all previous loans in a zoomed view or directly in ERP UI).
4. Required actions you must take immediately (accept an agreement, file a form). Deep-link to the appropriate underlying UI of the ERP system (e.g., a page in Banner's self-service area).
5. Link to your documents (past tax forms, applications, etc.). For example, Denison uses the Xtender document imaging product to scan and file all forms and paperwork, which students have trouble finding in the Banner self service product.
6. Important messages/announcements (tap into any available alerts/messaging frameworks).
