Find a Person

Most support and administration tasks begin by finding an existing person in the OpenRegistry system.

The Manage People page allows users with appropriate access to search for people by Identifier, Name and/or Date of Birth. At least one of the three fields must be completed in order to conduct a search.

Identifier

This field accepts any of the Calculated or System of Record Identifiers. So this could be the person's calculated NetID as assigned by OpenRegistry or the person's system of record ID like a campus identifier or SSN.

Name

This simplified field will accept a first name, last name, or combination of both. If first name only is provided, a Date of Birth should also be provided to limit results. Partial values are also valid. Use the following patterns for first and last name combination searches:

First Last
Last, First

Date of Birth

This field accepts a person's birthdate in the format yyyy-mm-dd and should be used whenever possible to reduce the number of results returned.

Results

Search results will be displayed in batches of 10. Each search result displays the following values:

  • Name - The person's complete Formal name
  • ID - The OpenRegistry preferred identifier
  • Roles - A list of the roles that a person has.
  • Gender - M or F to help identify the correct person.

Columns can be reordered by Name or Roles by clicking on the column title.

Clicking on either the person's name or the "Details" button will bring up the View Person Detail screen.
