[10:02:46 CST(-0600)] <holdorph> not me. I've used jmeter and grinder.

[10:07:55 CST(-0600)] <dd__> holdorph: i've never used either before, in your experience, which was easiest to pick up?

[10:09:11 CST(-0600)] <holdorph> there's some complications to both. Grinder was slightly more clumsy to get installed, all the jython libraries and stuff, but once it was installed, recording and running scripts with no data variation was easy.

[10:09:43 CST(-0600)] <holdorph> jmeter was easier to install, but i think there was a bigger learning curve to getting your first successful 'test' going, with results.

[10:10:10 CST(-0600)] <holdorph> jmeter is more graphical in terms of tuning your 'script'. grinder you have to program in python if you need to change your script.

[10:12:26 CST(-0600)] <dd__> thanks. i've been looking for simpler tools but i've seen those two used the most by the community so i guess i'll have to figure one out

[10:13:00 CST(-0600)] <holdorph> if you want results that are move 'revealing' of any true problems you have

[10:13:10 CST(-0600)] <holdorph> make sure you do what it takes to customize your script to

[10:13:20 CST(-0600)] <holdorph> use a large pool of username / passwords

[10:13:44 CST(-0600)] <holdorph> just repeatedly logging in as the same user does not stress uPortal in the same way as logging in with a wide variety of users does

[10:40:42 CST(-0600)] <athena> hm, we should pull some of the above into the manual
