[15:17:49 EST(-0500)] <holdorph> has anyone here encountered a situation where tomcat serves static files really really slow?
[15:18:29 EST(-0500)] <holdorph> looking at performance test numbers, it serves a 25k dynamic page in 500ms, but takes almost 3000ms (3s) to serve a 25k static file.
[15:18:50 EST(-0500)] <holdorph> this is not normal. On my own box, I don't see this problem.

[15:37:19 EST(-0500)] <jayshao> running out of worker threads?
[15:37:21 EST(-0500)] <jayshao> peek in yourkit or the like and see if the connector threads are blocked?
[15:37:49 EST(-0500)] <EricDalquist> paging or diskIO issues?
[15:37:50 EST(-0500)] <jayshao> or... if not worker threads - inodes for a user? Redhat I think defaults pretty low - 1024 file descripters per users - IMHO low for a server
[15:41:51 EST(-0500)] <holdorph> i don't think it's disk io, or worker threads
[15:42:01 EST(-0500)] <holdorph> because the files serve fine from apache on the same box
[15:42:08 EST(-0500)] <holdorph> and dynamic content from tomcat serves fine
