Biography

Jeremy joined Simon Fraser University in 2004 as java programmer for the in-house identity management system.  In 2006 he took over as lead developer of the IdM framework and rewrote significant portions of application to facilitate a single computing ID initiative where users with multiple roles within the University (staff, student, etc.) could have a single online identity.    The most visible application in the identity management stack is CAS.  Today Jeremy is a senior developer and Identity Management Architect at SFU.  He is also SFU's lead contributor to the OpenRegistry open source project (currently a Jasig incubation project).

Platform Statement

I have worked with the in house CAS developers to integrate CAS with our internal identity management registry, LDAP, PeopleSoft, WebCT and a variety of smaller applications.  CAS has been a key component of our architecture since before it was a Jasig project.  The future of CAS is very important to SFU and the higher ed community.  I am personally an avid advocate of open source development as an ideal compromise between in-house and commercial solutions.  As a representative on the CAS steering committee I would seek to further increase the profile of CAS as an alternative to commercial SSO products.
