The general strategy that we are taking on the jasig.org/uportal.org web sites regarding 'uploading' media documents is to leverage external hosting sites. On our site, you create a 'page' or node for the document and reference it where applicable. It is wise to also archive a copy of the document.
Steps:
- Go to scribd.com and log in
- Upload your document and configure as necessary
- Copy embed code
- Create new Media Document type - http://jasig.org/node/add/media
- Disable text editor (click Source button in editor or 'Disable text editor' below editor)
- Paste embed code in body
- Save
