Don't go up the steps, go to the left and through an archway into the campus, with old buildings on your right, and aim leftwards as soon as you can (after the Michael Sadler Building) across a concrete area with a few steps and an odd roof over the pathways. You will see loads of steps with yellow stripes painted on them going downwards. About halfway down the steps, there's a flat area (before the steps go on down) and the Edward Boyle library is on your right. It looks like this:
