This patch addresses a number of bugs that were uncovered in the recent release in the areas of importing and exporting, the DLM processing pipeline and the groups manager UI. Eric Dalquist recently let a webinar on uPortal 3.1 features. The webinar was open to the public and was hosted by Unicon, a Jasig Partner and Solution Provider. Over ??? people attended the virtual event. Stay tuned for news on additional webinars to be presented in the future.

Call for Portlet Release Engineer
The Incubation Working Group recently accepted over a dozen portlets into the incubation process. The uPortal Steering Committee is looking for a volunteer to serve as a portlet release engineer. This person will help coordinate the the testing and release of the portlets. They would work in cooperation with the lead portlet developers. If you are interested in taking on this role, please contact the steering committee at uportal-steering-committee@lists.ja-sig.org.
Steering Committee Elections
The uPortal Steering Committee serves as the governing body responsible for the strategic direction and operational oversight of the uPortal project. The committee acts as an advocate for the project and helps to ensure its continued health and growth. Later this Spring the Jasig membership will elect individuals to serve aas stakeholder representatives on the committee. As committee members, these individuals will help guide the ongoing development and adoption of uPortal and its bundled portlets. They help gather requirements, monitor progress and work on other initiatives that help improve uPortal and the community. You can find more information about the committee at http://www.jasig.org/uportal/steering-committee. We are particularly interested in having more end-user representation on the steering committee - you don't have to be overly technical to serve! Stay tuned for more information on the nomination process.
