We need a general logo not just a uP4 logo. Option 3 looked attractive without the version number.

There is a desire to have the logo be more contemporary and compelling. Perhaps enhancing the 3D look.
Adding a 3D ball might add interest.
Perhaps something else could be added that conveys interconnectedness.

Maybe add a 4 to the current logo.We would like to ask the community to select from three different options. The options we should them would not contain "4" in them (as in uPortal version 4). The "4" version would be rolled out when v4 is released.

The current logo. We would also create a v4 version by appending a stylized 4 to it.

Something like this. Not sure if there are any changes we need for it. We would also create a v4 version by appending a stylized 4 to it.

Version 3

Something with a 3D sphere. Laura whipped these up in Photoshop but you might need to alter them. You might want to do something with the font. Maybe see how the sphere looks if it is more behind the word

Deliverables:

1. A "version 3" that we can include in our community poll.
2. After our poll, a final version of our selected choice with and without the "4"
3. A style guide for use of the logo
4. Versions that work on light and dark backgrounds.
5. Versions appropriate for print and the web
